Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire received the Wright Stuff Award from Aerospace Industries Association President and CEO Eric Fanning at the Farnborough International Airshow on July 21. The award recognizes leaders who have made significant contributions to advancing U.S. aerospace and defense capabilities and who champion policies that promote global competitiveness in the industry.
Eric Fanning said, “Senator Shaheen has been a tireless champion for American aerospace and defense throughout her decades of public service — always recognizing that our nation’s leadership in this sector is inseparable from its prosperity, security, and technological edge. Her steadfast support for manufacturers and the 2.1 million Americans who power our industry has strengthened America’s competitiveness and left a lasting mark on our country. The Aerospace Industries Association is honored to present Senator Shaheen with the Wright Stuff Award in recognition of her leadership, partnership, and service.”
Senator Shaheen, who serves as a senior member of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee and Ranking Member of the Foreign Relations Committee, said, “American manufacturing powers our economy, creates good-paying jobs and advances America’s leadership. I’m incredibly proud of the work in New Hampshire to support the aerospace and defense workforce and I’m honored to be recognized by the Aerospace Industries Association.”
