Aerospace Industries Association President and CEO Eric Fanning joined CNBC at the Farnborough International Air Show on July 21 to discuss the aerospace and defense industry’s recent achievements and technological advancements.

During his interview, Fanning said the industry has experienced significant growth this year, with exports rising by 25 percent compared to the previous year. He also said partnerships between industry and government are important, as well as unique agreements between major aerospace contractors and new market entrants.

The Aerospace Industries Association operates in the aerospace and defense sector, supporting manufacturers and suppliers while offering advocacy efforts, networking opportunities through councils and committees, access to over 1,400 industry standards, diversity initiatives, international business ethics programs such as leading the International Forum on Business Ethical Conduct since 2010, and policy work in areas including national security, aviation safety, space innovation, workforce development, economic expansion, innovation encouragement, and representation improvement, according to the official website.
