An Arizona man was sentenced to 33 months in prison after admitting he assaulted a woman at her residence, according to an Aug. 3 announcement from federal authorities.
Court documents state that on September 16, 2024, Kendrick Harvey, age 36 and an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, went to the home of Jane Doe while intoxicated. While there, Harvey assaulted Jane Doe, causing serious bodily injury.
Harvey pleaded guilty to assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Upon release from prison, he will be subject to three years of supervised release. The sentence does not include parole, as there is no parole in the federal system.
First Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and Justin A. Garris, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, made the announcement regarding the sentencing.
The Gallup Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office investigated this case with assistance from the Navajo Nation Police Department and Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Mondragon is prosecuting.
