Iowa City Man Sentenced to Federal Prison for Child Pornography Charges

News Release: DAVENPORT, Iowa - An Iowa City man and India native, Sameer Chandulal Patel, age 30, was sentenced on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, to 210 months in prison for receipt and distribution of child pornography. Following his imprisonment, Patel was ordered to serve five years of supervised release, unless he is deported from the United States.


The US Justice Department published a two page notice on Nov. 4, according to the U.S. Government Publishing Office.

News Release: A Guatemalan national was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Kenneth Marra on Nov. 3 to 36 months in prison in the Southern District of Florida for smuggling an unaccompanied 15-year-old child into the United States for financial gain. The defendant was convicted by federal jury in July 2022.

Littleton Man Charged with Covid Fraud
