Omari Scott, also known as “Prince” and “Sir Prince,” was sentenced on July 29 in federal court in Brooklyn to 50 years in prison for murder in the course of sex trafficking, sex trafficking two victims, and promoting prostitution. United States District Judge Kiyo A. Matsumoto imposed the sentence after Scott’s conviction by a federal jury in June 2025 for murder during sex trafficking and sex trafficking Jane Doe 2. Before trial, Scott pleaded guilty to charges related to Jane Doe 1 and promoting prostitution. Restitution to the victims will be determined at a later date.
The charges stem from Scott’s activities at an open-air sex market in Brooklyn known as the “Penn Track,” where he trafficked women and orchestrated the murder of a rival pimp following a dispute over control of one victim. The announcement was made by Joseph Nocella, Jr., United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York; James C. Barnacle, Jr., Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI New York Field Office; and Jessica S. Tisch, Commissioner of the New York City Police Department.
United States Attorney Nocella said, “The defendant earned this lengthy sentence through a pattern of ruthless violence, exploitation of vulnerable women, and abuse. His actions caused lasting harm to his victims and demonstrated a complete disregard for the law and for human dignity. Our Office’s prosecutors and law enforcement brought him to justice and their noble work demonstrates a deep commitment to protecting the community from those who commit these heinous crimes.”
FBI Assistant Director Barnacle said, “Omari Scott carried out a disturbing level of violence and exploitation of innocent victims. The FBI is dedicated to defending the individuals subjected to these crimes and pursuing offenders who threaten innocent civilians.” NYPD Commissioner Tisch said, “The NYPD has no tolerance for anyone who sexually exploits women and profits from these horrific crimes… Thank you to the NYPD investigators, FBI, and U.S. Attorney’s Office …for their work to get this sex trafficker off our streets for good.”
According to evidence presented at trial, Scott lured his victims with promises but used threats or violence when they failed nightly quotas or tried leaving him. He rendered them dependent on him by taking all their earnings while controlling access to basic needs such as food or shelter.
Scott orchestrated Cleveland Clay’s murder after learning that Jane Doe 2 planned on leaving him; Michael Simmons carried out Clay’s killing with assistance from Scott in May 2023 at Penn Track’s White Castle parking lot.
