U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the federal agency responsible for securing U.S. borders, shared several updates on its official X account this week, addressing topics from new technology to border security messaging.
On July 26, CBP announced the launch of a new application for trusted travelers: “The Global Entry mobile app is available. The app is for trusted travelers enrolled in Global Entry to complete their arrival processing instead of waiting in line to use a portal.” According to CBP, the mobile application aims to streamline entry procedures for pre-approved, low-risk travelers by allowing them to process arrivals via their smartphones rather than waiting at physical portals. This initiative aligns with ongoing efforts by CBP to modernize and expedite border processing through digital solutions.
The following day, on July 27, CBP posted a motivational message directed at its followers: “It’s Monday patriots, rise and shine!”
Later that same morning, CBP issued a warning regarding misinformation about border crossings: “REMINDER: do not listen to lying smugglers.” The agency has repeatedly cautioned migrants against relying on false promises or deceptive information from smugglers attempting to facilitate unauthorized entry into the United States.
Global Entry is one of several Trusted Traveler Programs administered by CBP designed to expedite travel for pre-screened individuals. These programs are part of broader efforts by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to enhance both convenience and security at U.S. ports of entry.
