U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) posted a series of updates on its official Twitter account between June 1 and June 2, 2026, highlighting the activities and capabilities of its specialized units.

On June 1, CBP shared a tweet with a link: “https://t.co/PMkSTsjx8G”.

The following day, another post appeared on the agency’s feed: “https://t.co/3k38dpDg31”, dated June 2.

Later that same day, CBP provided information about one of its specialized units in a third tweet: “The Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue Unit (BORSTAR) is the only national law enforcement, search and rescue (SAR) entity with the capability to conduct tactical medical or SAR operations. Read more about CBP’s specialized units here: https://t.co/WmrqutioqE https://t.co/UV4pT2Ma2Q” (June 2).

The Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue Unit (BORSTAR), referenced in the final tweet, is recognized as the sole national law enforcement unit equipped for both tactical medical response and search-and-rescue operations. This distinction sets BORSTAR apart from other U.S. agencies involved in border security or emergency response roles.

CBP is responsible for securing America’s borders while facilitating lawful travel and trade. Its various specialized units—including BORSTAR—play critical roles in supporting these objectives by providing expertise in complex operational environments.
