The House Budget Committee announced on July 14 a markup for the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2027. House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington of Texas released a statement regarding the committee’s upcoming actions.
Arrington said, “Republicans were sent to Washington on a mission to reverse the failed policies of the socialist Democrats and restore the greatness of America.”
He continued, “On Thursday, House Republicans will unlock a third budget reconciliation to stop Democrat obstruction, support our troops, and safeguard the integrity of our elections.”
“We will use every tool and resource at our disposal to govern our great nation and deliver on behalf of the freedom-loving people who gave us unified Republican leadership,” Arrington said.
The House Budget Committee is affiliated with the U.S. House of Representatives and includes members from key committees such as Ways and Means and Appropriations. The committee oversees federal spending, develops budget resolutions to promote fiscal responsibility, prepares annual budget resolutions with guidelines for spending targets, collaborates with the Congressional Budget Office for independent analyses, and has influenced budget management through use of the reconciliation process, according to the official website.
