A Summit County resident was sentenced on June 2 to more than 11 years in federal prison for offenses involving the sexual abuse of children. Jordan Gazafy, 35, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, received a sentence of 140 months in prison from U.S. District Judge Donald C. Nugent after pleading guilty in February to receipt and distribution of visual depictions of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
Gazafy was also ordered to serve ten years of supervised release following his imprisonment, pay $162,500 in restitution to 25 known victims, and pay $5,100 in special assessments. He will be required to register as a sex offender after completing his prison term.
According to court documents and evidence presented during proceedings, law enforcement began investigating suspected child sexual abuse material activity on an internet platform across Summit, Portage, and Medina Counties in February 2023. Gazafy was identified as part of this investigation. From January 2024 through February 2025, he received and distributed digital files depicting the sexual abuse of children. A search warrant executed at his residence led agents to seize electronic devices containing more than 25,000 images classified as child sexual abuse material; many were sadomasochistic and included prepubescent children and infants being raped.
The case was investigated by the FBI Cleveland Division with assistance from the FBI Akron Resident Agency and the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Joseph P. Dangelo prosecuted the case for the Northern District of Ohio.
