News Release: On Thursday July 7, 2022, Big Bend National Park’s surplus Wildland Fire Engine 864 was transferred to the Marathon Fire Department. Engine 864 is a 2011 Ford F-550 that is classified as a Type 6 Wildland Fire Engine, designed for use in rural settings and used in initial attack on wildfires.

News Release: Medford, Ore. - As a benefit from funding in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Bureau of Land Management has opened an expanded parking lot at the Mountain of the Rogue trail system, just off I-5 near Rogue River. The new parking lot has more than double the parking capacity, providing 35 spots. It also improves flow of traffic by creating a one-way loop.

News Release: WELLFLEET, Mass. - Cape Cod National Seashore’s Beech Forest Trail in Provincetown will undergo repair and replacement of its elevated boardwalk beginning Monday, July 11. During these repairs, a portion of the trail will be inaccessible to visitors. The project is expected to last up to eight weeks.

News Release: KINGMAN, Ariz. - The Bureau of Land Management Kingman Field Office has completed an environmental assessment and is seeking public comment on the proposed Antler Operations Inc. Exploration Project. The proposed exploration drilling project is located approximately nine miles east of the intersection of Interstate 40 and Boriana Mine Road near the town of Yucca in Mohave County.

News Release: Great Smoky Mountains National Park seeks public review of the Balsam Mountain Campground and Heintooga Picnic Area Water and Wastewater Environmental Assessment (EA) through Tuesday, July 26, 2022. The park is proposing to rehabilitate the water and wastewater systems, which were originally built in 1953-1955.
