Deputy Secretary Christopher Landau will lead the United States delegation to the July 28 inauguration of President-elect Keiko Fujimori in Lima, Peru, according to a July 26 announcement. During the visit, Landau is scheduled to meet with President-elect Fujimori and other senior Peruvian officials to reaffirm the 200-year diplomatic partnership between the United States and Peru.

The meetings are expected to focus on expanding cooperation in areas such as security, investment, and disaster preparedness. These discussions aim at advancing shared prosperity and strengthening regional stability.

The official U.S. Presidential Delegation includes Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau; Bernie Navarro, Ambassador of the United States to Peru; William Kimmitt, Under Secretary for International Trade at the Department of Commerce; Erin Browne, Counselor to the Secretary of the Treasury; and Viviana Bovo, Senior Advisor for Western Hemisphere Affairs at the Department of State.

The visit highlights ongoing bilateral relations between the two countries and underscores efforts by both governments to deepen engagement across multiple sectors.

Landau’s meetings with Peruvian leaders are intended as part of broader efforts by both nations toward regional cooperation.
