The United States Department of Homeland Security announced on Aug. 5 that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has deported several criminal illegal aliens in the past week, including individuals convicted of homicide, rape, drug trafficking, and domestic violence.
“In the last week alone, ICE has deported dangerous criminals from our country, including murderers, rapists, drug traffickers, and violent assailants,” said DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin. “The Trump Administration will always put the safety of the American people first, and that starts with removing criminal illegal aliens from our communities. DHS is committed to its mission of defending the homeland, protecting the American people, and enforcing the law.”
Deportations during this period included Fredy Alexander Lopez Lara from Honduras, who was deported on July 31 after a conviction for homicide; Christian Dulue Flah from Liberia, who was deported on July 31 following convictions for rape – strongarm, sex offense, and driving under the influence; Enrique Velasco-Sanchez from Mexico, who was deported on August 2 after convictions for attempted sexual battery, hit-and-run, driving under the influence of liquor as well as an arrest for illegal re-entry; Herlindo Urizar-Reyes from Guatemala, who was deported on August 1 after convictions for accessory after the fact to aggravated assault, animal cruelty, driving under the influence, and public intoxication; and Renqin Chen from China, who was deported on July 31 following a conviction for distribution of at least 50 grams of methamphetamine.
According to DHS officials in their announcement released in Washington, D.C., these actions are part of ongoing efforts to remove individuals deemed threats due to their criminal records.
