Christopher Jackson, 27, of Elyria, Ohio, was sentenced on July 15 to 186 months in federal prison for receipt, possession, and distribution of pornographic materials involving children. U.S. District Judge Pamela A. Barker handed down the sentence after Jackson pleaded guilty in March to charges including receipt and distribution of visual depictions of real minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and possession of child pornography.
Jackson will also serve 15 years of supervised release following his imprisonment. Restitution will be determined at a later date.
According to court records, investigators identified Jackson during an inquiry into suspected child sexual abuse material activity on social media platforms. Authorities found approximately 955 images and 371 videos containing such material during a forensic analysis of his electronic devices and online accounts. The investigation revealed that Jackson had been possessing and viewing this content for more than 17 years.
The case was investigated by the FBI Cleveland Division and the Elyria Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Margaret Kane prosecuted the case for the Northern District of Ohio.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices throughout the country that aims to combat child sexual exploitation by coordinating federal, state, and local resources to apprehend offenders and rescue victims.
