Chair Joni Ernst announced on June 30 that ShinyTop Brewing has been named Small Business of the Week. Throughout this Congress, Ernst plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
“When they are not slinging ales, the McCubbin brothers can be found crafting up a sense of belonging for its community members through various initiatives,” said Chair Ernst. “Since 2016, Nate and Todd McCubbin have brewed meaningful partnerships with Fort Dodge’s local businesses and ShinyTop’s guests.”
ShinyTop Brewing was founded with the goal of sharing craft beer among friends and family. The brewery now operates with 12 employees and is described as a local fixture within the Fort Dodge community. According to Ernst, it represents the hard work, patience, and determination associated with small business spirit.
The Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee supports informed decision-making on national fiscal priorities, offers Congress comprehensive policy options on federal budget components, features Lindsey Graham as chairman and Jeff Merkley as ranking member, contributes to the congressional budget process via resolutions and reconciliation instructions, was established through the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974, and provides nonpartisan budgetary analysis through oversight of the Congressional Budget Office, according to the official website.
Ernst encouraged Iowans to stay tuned for future recognitions as she continues her initiative highlighting outstanding small businesses across Iowa.
