A federal jury in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, found Mandi Litzinger, 44, of Cherry Tree, guilty on July 20 of distributing fentanyl resulting in serious bodily injury and death, as well as conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.
Litzinger was tried before United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines. According to evidence presented during the week-long trial, on or about February 12, 2021, Litzinger distributed a mixture containing fentanyl that resulted in the serious bodily injury and death of another individual. The jury also found that around February 2021, she conspired to distribute a quantity of fentanyl.
Judge Haines scheduled sentencing for November 19. The law provides for a maximum sentence ranging from not less than 20 years up to life imprisonment and a fine up to $1 million or both. Under federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence will depend on the seriousness of the offenses and any prior criminal history.

The investigation leading to Litzinger’s prosecution was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Pennsylvania State Police.
