Troy Darnell McFall, age 54, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was sentenced on July 24 to 33 months in prison and five years of supervised release for failure to register as a sex offender. United States District Judge Jennifer P. Wilson imposed the sentence.
According to United States Attorney Brian D. Miller, McFall was previously convicted in Pennsylvania state court in 2005 of Aggravated Indecent Assault, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Indecent Assault, and Corruption of Minors. Due to these convictions, he was required under the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) to register as a sex offender. From December through July 2025, McFall traveled in interstate commerce without updating his registration.
The United States Marshals Service investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Michael Scalera prosecuted it.
This prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. Project Safe Childhood coordinates federal, state, and local resources to locate offenders who sexually exploit children and rescue victims.
