News Release: WASHINGTON – Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas has authorized U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to execute the Yuma Morelos Dam Project to close four gaps located within an incomplete border barrier project near the Morelos Dam in the U.S. Border Patrol’s Yuma Sector. These projects address operational impacts, as well as immediate life and safety risks, and will be funded with DHS’s Fiscal Year 2021 appropriations.

News Release: HOUSTON - Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Houston, Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), Houston Police Department (HPD), and Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) arrested six individuals July 28 for their alleged roles in a large-scale catalytic converter theft ring that is suspected of fencing stolen catalytic converters for the three individuals charged with murdering HCSO Sheriff’s Office Deputy Darren Almendarez.

ERO New York removes Pakistani national wanted for murder in home country

News Release: NEW YORK - U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) New York field office removed a Pakistani fugitive July 12 to his homeland, accompanied by ERO officers. Ahmad Bilal Cheema, 42, is wanted for murder in Pakistan. According to Pakistani law enforcement, Cheema along with two accomplices, allegedly murdered three individuals on or about Nov. 5, 2008.
