The U.S. House of Representatives passed H. Con. Res. 113, the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for fiscal year 2027, by a vote of 216-214, according to a July 22 statement from the House Budget Committee.

House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington said, “I am humbled by the steadfast unity and unwavering determination from House Republicans to break the Democrat obstruction so we can provide emergency support for our troops, safeguard the integrity of our elections, and continue delivering on the priorities of the American people.” Arrington also said, “I urge the Senate to seize this fateful moment to SAVE and Protect America.”

The House Budget Committee is affiliated with the U.S. House of Representatives and includes members from key committees such as Ways and Means and Appropriations; it oversees federal spending, develops budget resolutions to promote fiscal responsibility, prepares annual budget resolutions with guidelines for spending targets, influences budget management through reconciliation processes, collaborates with the Congressional Budget Office for independent analyses, and is chaired by Jodey Arrington, according to its official website.

The passage of this resolution follows ongoing debates over national priorities including military funding and election security measures.

Next steps will involve consideration by the Senate.
