Calvin Ray Westfield, 68, of Hugo, Oklahoma, pleaded guilty on July 17 to one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. The charge is punishable by up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Westfield was indicted for knowingly possessing one .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol, one 12-gauge pump action shotgun, 11 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, and three rounds of 12-gauge ammunition on August 28, 2025. At the time of the offense, he had previously been convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.
The case resulted from an investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hugo Police Department. The Honorable Gerald L. Jackson, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Westfield’s plea and ordered completion of a presentence investigation report.
A U.S. District Court Judge will determine Westfield’s sentence after considering federal sentencing guidelines and other statutory factors. Following his plea hearing, Westfield was remanded into custody with the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan E. Soverly and Lewis M.
