U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced on July 27 the arrest of several individuals described as criminal illegal aliens, convicted for offenses including murder, enticement of a minor for indecent purposes, and kidnapping.
Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said, “While Americans were enjoying their weekends, ICE law enforcement was arresting murderers, pedophiles, kidnappers, and other criminal illegal aliens. Under the Trump Administration, nearly 70% of ICE arrests are of criminal illegal aliens charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S. We are committed to removing public safety threats from our communities.”
The agency provided details about those arrested over the weekend. Among them is Warren Davis from Jamaica, convicted for murder, burglary, and robbery-forcible theft with a deadly weapon in White Plains, New York; Adolfo Rosales-Diaz from Mexico for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence in Salinas, California; Angel Romero-Cazares from Mexico for attempted murder and three counts of cruelty to a child in Auburn, California; Juan Eduardo Berganza from Guatemala for attempted murder and driving under the influence in Plymouth, Massachusetts; Gerardo Rioquinto from Mexico for attempted murder related to street gang activity in Anaheim, California; Leonardo Castro from the Dominican Republic for enticement of a minor among other charges in Cranston, Rhode Island; Jose Martinez-Ortiz from Honduras for first-degree kidnapping in Orange County, North Carolina.
Other individuals named include Walter Perez-Perello from Cuba (domestic battery and drug-related charges) in Las Vegas; Yovon Delgadillo-Guerrero from Mexico (injury to a child/elderly/disabled person) in Collin County, Texas; Hector Cuevas-Perez from the Dominican Republic (robbery and burglary while displaying a firearm) in New York City; Jorge Luis Avila-Santos from Honduras (cocaine trafficking) in Sarasota; Cheung Kan from China (robbery and possession with intent to distribute heroin) in Los Angeles; Phongphat Meumany from Laos (drug trafficking) in Sioux City; Guillermo Lopez-Ontiveros from Mexico (conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine) also in Los Angeles; Pedro Amador-Lopez from Cuba (distribution of controlled substance cocaine base-crack) in Miami.
