U.S. Immigration and Enforcement arrested several individuals described as dangerous criminal illegal aliens on July 30, including those convicted of sexual assault, domestic violence with traumatic injury, unlawful conduct related to slave trafficking, and other crimes.
Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said, “Yesterday, ICE arrested sexual predators, domestic assailants, and other dangerous public safety threats from our communities.” Bis also said that under President Trump’s leadership, crime rates have reached historic lows. “It is common sense. When you remove criminal illegal aliens from the country, crime rates plummet.”
Among those arrested were Omar Luna-Hernandez from Mexico, convicted of sexual assault and illegal re-entry in Tucson, Arizona; Francisco Zagal-Pena from Mexico, convicted of domestic violence with traumatic injury and attempted strangulation in Twin Falls, Idaho; Alvaro Gutierrez-Garcia from El Salvador, convicted of assault in Mineola, New York; Enrique Balcazar-Arias from Mexico, convicted of unlawful conduct with respect to documents in furtherance of slave trafficking in Columbia, South Carolina; and Luis Edgardo Mejia-Molina from Honduras, who was convicted of cannabis production equipment violations as well as attempting to elude police and possession of a firearm by a minor in Charles County, Maryland.
