U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested several individuals convicted of serious crimes, including voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, and fentanyl trafficking, according to an Aug. 4 announcement from the Department of Homeland Security.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said, “Every single day, we are REMOVING criminals from American communities. Just yesterday, ICE arrested murderers, sexual predators, violent assailants, drug traffickers, and other dangerous criminal illegal aliens.” Mullin continued, “Under the Trump Administration, the Department of Homeland Security is enforcing the law, deporting criminal illegal aliens, and defending the homeland. It’s no wonder crime rates have reached historic lows.”
The arrests included Fernando Ruiz-Maldonado from Mexico in Los Angeles for voluntary manslaughter; Sergio Loya-Lozano from Mexico in San Jose for criminal indecent exposure as well as hit-and-run and two counts of driving under the influence; Olman Josue Pineda-Jimenez from Honduras in Charlotte for aggravated assault and harassing communications; Heriberto Hernandez-Sosa from the Dominican Republic in Worcester for fentanyl trafficking; and Jose Manuel Pertuz-Pena from Venezuela in Cook County for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
According to ICE’s statement on its public safety efforts, “80% of Americans support our commonsense efforts to deport criminal illegals from our communities.”
