Peter Jacobsson, 39, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced on July 9 in federal court in Lincoln to a total of 244 months’ imprisonment for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and use or carry of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis imposed the sentence, which includes no parole under the federal system. After his release from prison, Jacobsson will serve a 10-year term of supervised release.
Jacobsson was involved in a conspiracy to sell methamphetamine in the Lincoln and Omaha areas between February 2022 and March 2025. In September 2024, an undercover officer made three controlled purchases from Jacobsson: on September 9, purchasing 47 grams of methamphetamine actual; on September 12, purchasing another 52 grams; and on September 19, purchasing an additional 51 grams.
On October 16, 2024, Jacobsson was arrested while driving a stolen vehicle. At the time of arrest, he had with him approximately 41.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a nine-millimeter handgun. Authorities seized his cell phone pursuant to a search warrant; messages found included communications with co-defendant Ramon Gaytan and others that were consistent with drug distribution activities.
Co-defendant Gaytan pleaded guilty to similar charges and is scheduled for sentencing on October 15 before United States District Judge Susan M. Bazis. Another co-defendant is set for a status conference on July 24 before United States Magistrate Judge Jacqueline M. DeLuca.
The case was investigated by the Lincoln-Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force.
