The free community event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, from 5 to 7:30 PM at 8206 State Street in East St. Louis. Organizers said the evening will include activities for all ages such as games, police demonstrations, a helicopter landing, and music provided by a live DJ. Community partners plan to distribute school supplies to students and provide food to families attending the event. Free school physicals will also be available.

Participating agencies are set to include Ameren Illinois, ATF, Catholic Urban Programs, the City of East St. Louis, Community Development Sustainable Solutions, Community Life Line, DEA, the East St. Louis Police Department, FBI Springfield Field Office, Illinois State Police, IRS Criminal Investigation division, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the U.S. Marshals Service.

According to organizers of National Night Out in East St. Louis, this year’s gathering aims to encourage community partnerships with police and promote neighborhood camaraderie through shared activities and engagement opportunities.

National Night Out is an annual campaign designed as a community-building initiative involving both law enforcement agencies and local residents.
