The National Federation of Independent Business Minnesota Political Action Committee announced its first round of candidate endorsements for the Minnesota Legislature on July 15.
According to the organization, small businesses in Minnesota continue to face challenges from inflation and government regulation. The group cited higher taxes, lingering inflation, and the Paid Family & Medical Leave mandate as factors making it more difficult for small businesses to maintain daily operations. The NFIB said strong advocates are needed in the Legislature.
“Each of these lawmakers has done an exceptional job advocating for Minnesota small businesses,” said Jon Boesche, NFIB Minnesota State Director. “Main Street is under more pressure than they’ve ever been with burdensome regulations like PFML. Business owners need strong voices in the Legislature to ensure that they can remain competitive and grow.”
Endorsements are determined by the NFIB MN PAC Board, which consists of small business owners in Minnesota. Incumbent legislative endorsements are based on prior support for NFIB’s agenda and previous votes.
NFIB represents over 10,000 small businesses across the state. The organization stated that its endorsement serves as a signal to voters that a candidate will stand with small business interests. A full list of endorsed candidates for both the House of Representatives and Senate was released.
