Stacy Spencer, 60, of Niagara Falls, New York, was sentenced to serve 24 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and being a felon in possession of a firearm, U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced on July 15. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.
According to the announcement, the Drug Enforcement Administration and Niagara Falls Police Department began investigating Spencer in 2021. The investigation included four controlled purchases of cocaine. On May 2, 2022, law enforcement executed search warrants at Spencer’s residence and another property on Ontario Avenue in Niagara Falls that he used for drug trafficking activities.
During the search at the Ontario Avenue location, officers found a locked safe containing approximately 93.5 grams of cocaine and a pistol in the basement. Authorities also recovered about $6,385 in cash from Spencer. Due to felony convictions from October 1993 in Niagara County and October 2009 in Erie County, Spencer is legally prohibited from possessing firearms.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael J. Adler and resulted from an investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration under Special Agent-in-Charge Farhana Islam of the New York Field Division and Chief Nick Ligammari of the Niagara Falls Police Department.
