Human trafficking erodes the rule of law, the safety of our communities, the security of our borders, and the strength of our economy.

Subject to the availability of funds, the U.S. State Department’ s Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons (TIP Office) intends to award, through a competitive process, one or more cooperative agreements to organizations to implement a project within one of five priority areas.

“Trafficking in persons” and “human trafficking” are umbrella terms – often used interchangeably – to refer to a crime whereby traffickers exploit and profit at the expense of adults or children by compelling them to perform labor or engage in commercial sex.
