News Release: LAKE CHARLES, La. - Ryan Spencer George, 37, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, was sentenced today in U.S. District Court, announced United States Attorney Brandon B. Brown. George was sentenced by United States District Judge James D. Cain, Jr. to 108 months (9 years) in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release. George pleaded guilty on May 26, 2022 to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Weiss, U.S. Attorney for the District of Delaware, announced that a Seaford man was sentenced yesterday to 30 days imprisonment followed by 3 years of supervised release for defrauding the Social Security Administration (“SSA") of nearly $150,000 through a scheme that lasted more than a decade. The sentence was pronounced by Chief U.S. District Judge Colm F. Connolly.

Zavala-Perez faces a maximum penalty of life in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been scheduled.

Handberg announces the arrest of Ricky Darnell Franklin, Jr. (30, Ocala) on an indictment charging him with possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison. Franklin had been indicted on May 24, 2022.

News Release: Philips RS North America LLC, formerly known as Respironics Inc., a manufacturer of durable medical equipment (DME) based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has agreed to pay over $24 million to resolve False Claims Act allegations that it misled federal health care programs by paying kickbacks to DME suppliers.
