News Release: The Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Vermont announced that David R. Markie, 40, of Rutland, Vermont was arrested last night for interfering with commerce by robbery. Markie was charged today by Criminal Complaint, and is scheduled to appear tomorrow before United States Magistrate Judge Kevin J. Doyle.

News Release: A former leader of the Proud Boys pleaded guilty today to seditious conspiracy for his actions before and during the breach of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. His and others’ actions sought to stop the transfer of power by disrupting a joint session of the U.S. Congress convened to ascertain and count the electoral votes related to the presidential election.

News Release: A Canadian man was sentenced to 20 years in prison and ordered to forfeit $21,500,000 today for his role in NetWalker ransomware attacks. The Court will order restitution at a later date.

News Release: Tampa, Florida - U.S. District Judge Steven D. Merryday has sentenced Thomas VanGelder (40, Holiday) to 30 years in federal prison, followed by a lifetime term of supervised release, for attempted enticement of a minor and possessing child sex abuse material. The court also ordered VanGelder to forfeit the electronic devices used in the commission of the offense. Restitution for the victims will be determined at a later date. VanGelder had pleaded guilty on May 31, 2022.

News Release: CONCORD, N.H. - Kyle Goff, 28, a resident of Pembroke New Hampshire, pleaded guilty in federal court to possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl and possession of a firearm silencer that was unregistered and did not contain a serial number, United States Attorney Jane E. News Release: BARRE, Vt. - The Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Vermont stated that Tiffany Fisk, 33, of Barre, Vermont, was sentenced today to serve 18 months in prison after her conviction for distributing fentanyl. Chief United States District Judge Geoffrey W. Crawford also ordered Fisk to serve a three-year term of supervised release after her incarceration.
