News Release: BUFFALO, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that Elina Martinez, 64, of Miami, FL, was arrested and charged by criminal complaint with possession with intent to distribute, and distribute, 400 grams or more of fentanyl. The charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in prison, and a maximum of life in prison.

News Release: A Massachusetts man was sentenced yesterday to 33 months in prison followed by two years of supervised release for a scheme to illegally export defense technical data to foreign nationals in Turkey in connection with the fraudulent manufacturing of parts and components used by the U.S. military, in violation of the Arms Export Control Act. The U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) later determined that some of the parts were substandard and unsuitable for use by the military.

News Release: Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that KEVIN JONES, SR., 58, of Farmington, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Alvin W. Thompson in Hartford to 18 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for distributing crack cocaine. Judge Thompson also ordered Jones to serve 200 hours of community service while on supervised release.

Handberg announces that Reece Christopher Depew (24, Jacksonville) has pleaded guilty to possessing images depicting young children being sexually abused. Depew faces a maximum penalty of 20 years’ imprisonment and a potential lifetime of supervised release. Depew was arrested on Jan. 17, 2020, and has been detained since that time.
