Mujahid Davis, 24, of Philadelphia, was sentenced on Aug. 4 to 11 years in prison, five years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $134,000 in restitution for his involvement in multiple robberies targeting armored trucks. United States District Judge Gail A. Weilheimer imposed the sentence following Davis’s guilty plea earlier this year.
According to United States Attorney David Metcalf, Davis pleaded guilty in March to two attempted Hobbs Act robberies, two Hobbs Act robberies, and one count of carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence. The charges stem from several incidents involving Brinks trucks between July and October 2025.
Court filings show that Davis admitted participating with others in the July 2 robbery of a Brinks truck in Philadelphia; the July 15 attempted robbery of another Brinks truck also in Philadelphia; the August 12 robbery of a Brinks truck in Elkins Park; and the October 3 attempted robbery back in Philadelphia. In total, Davis admitted stealing $122,225 from Brinks Inc.
Davis’s co-defendant Dante Shackleford also pleaded guilty earlier this year to three attempted Hobbs Act robberies, one Hobbs Act robbery, and carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during these crimes. Shackleford is scheduled for sentencing later this month.
The case was investigated by the FBI Philadelphia Violent Crimes Task Force along with the Philadelphia Police Department. Assistant United States Attorneys Robert Eckert and Kwambina Coker are prosecuting.
