A Pittsfield pharmacist has been charged in federal court in Boston on July 10 with allegedly diverting Adderall and Dextroamp-amphetamin (generic Adderall) from a national pharmacy chain.
Joshua Bradley, 30, of Pittsfield, faces five counts of acquiring a controlled substance by fraud, deception and subterfuge. Bradley is scheduled to make an initial appearance in federal court in Boston on September 9.
According to charging documents, while employed as a licensed pharmacist at a national pharmacy chain, Bradley allegedly diverted various quantities of Dextroamp-amphetamin for his own use on four occasions during August, September and November 2024. The documents also allege that on November 10, 2024, he diverted Adderall intended for customers.
The charge carries a potential sentence of up to four years in prison, one year of supervised release and a fine of $250,000. Sentences are determined by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes governing criminal cases.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Jarod A. Forget, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New England Field Division, announced the charges. Assistance was provided by the Massachusetts State Police; Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department; and police departments from Barnstable, Harwich, Bourne, Brewster, Sandwich, Falmouth, Mashpee, Yarmouth and Dennis. Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan Cleary of the Health Care Fraud Unit is prosecuting the case.
