The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced three key nominations on July 23, including candidates for federal circuit judge, district judge, and United States attorney.
Daniel Desmond Domenico was advanced to be United States Circuit Judge for the Tenth Circuit by a vote of 12-10. Matthew R. Byrne was nominated to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Ohio, also by a vote of 12-10. Christopher Nassar was advanced as United States Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma with a vote of 17-5.
The committee approved Senator Darline Graham’s membership on several subcommittees by voice vote: Border Security and Immigration; Crime and Counterterrorism; Federal Courts, Oversight, Agency Action and Federal Rights; and Privacy, Technology and the Law.
Todd Blanche’s nomination for U.S. Attorney General was held over pursuant to Judiciary Rule I.3, and is scheduled for a vote next week on July 30.
