U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, announced on May 26 that Toploft Clothing of Carroll County has been named her Small Business of the Week. Ernst plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties throughout the 119th Congress.

“Toploft Clothing is a seamless example of the innovation, adaptability, and entrepreneurial drive that define Iowa small businesses,” said Chair Ernst. “Through its tightly woven community involvement and charitable work, this company continues to make a lasting impact on Carroll County.”

Toploft Clothing was founded in 2014 by Stephanie Hackfort as an online women’s clothing boutique. The business later expanded into custom apparel and branded merchandise services. It now operates from a storefront in downtown Carroll, providing custom clothing, promotional merchandise, and webstore services for schools, teams, and organizations across Iowa and beyond.

Ernst will continue her initiative to highlight outstanding small businesses across all counties in Iowa with her weekly award.

The Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee supports informed decision-making on national fiscal priorities; offers Congress comprehensive policy options on federal budget components; features Lindsey Graham as chairman and Jeff Merkley as ranking member; contributes to the congressional budget process via resolutions and reconciliation instructions; was established through the Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974; and provides nonpartisan budgetary analysis through oversight of the Congressional Budget Office, according to the official website.
