The Chairman’s Mark is based upon S.2816, a bill introduced by Senators Baucus and Grassley in July. The Finance Committee will mark up this legislation on Thursday, September 5, 2002.


News Release: Got milk? Apparently many teen-aged girls don't have enough. A new study by Agricultural Research Service nutritionist Shanthy A. Bowman, based on survey data, notes that milk consumption decreases as adolescent girls grow older. Out of 732 girls aged 12 through 19 years, the 12-year-olds had the highest milk intake, with 78 percent drinking milk. The 12-year-olds also had the lowest soda intake--nine ounces on a given day.
