Park Receives Approval for Issuing Special Use Permit to In-holder

News Release: WEST GLACIER, MONT. - Officials at Glacier National Park announce that a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for granting a Special Use Permit to allow access over park land to a parcel of private property was signed by National Park Intermountain Regional Director Mike Snyder on Nov. 1, 2006. The decision was reached after reviewing public comments on the environmental assessment (EA) released in September.


Park Roads Closed Due to Flooding

News Release: Like much of the Olympic Peninsula, Olympic National Park has received significant rainfall in recent days. Flooding in many areas has led to numerous road closures. Park staff will conduct damage assessments when conditions allow and will work to reopen roads as soon as it is safe to do so.

News Release: Park staff at Rocky Mountain National Park received a phone call yesterday afternoon that Brian Jorrey, 25, from Carrollton, Texas was missing and was last seen by his uncle and aunt near an overlook west and above Nymph Lake at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, November 5. Park dispatch was notified through the emergency phone located at Bear Lake at approximately 5:15 p.m. It was assumed that Brian had continued up the trail toward Dream Lake and Emerald Lake.
