2007 Acadia National Park Visitation Increases

News Release: Last year Acadia National Park visitation increased 5.7% over 2006, to 2.2 million visitors. This represents 120,000 more visitors enjoying the park. The largest increases came in June, August and September, but numbers were down from 2006 for July. Visitation had been falling in the park since 1995, with the steepest declines between 2002 and 2005. Last year was the second year in a row that visitation had risen, with numbers returning to the 2004 level.
