Sagamore Hill Begins Off-Season Schedule in September

News Release: Sagamore Hill National Historic Site, home of Theodore Roosevelt, 26th US President, will return to its 5 days per week off season schedule on Tuesday, September 8 through Memorial Day 2009. The public buildings will be open Wednesday through Sunday and will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The grounds of Sagamore Hill are 7 days per week year round from dawn to dusk and are free of charge.

Hurricane Ridge Road Temporarily Closed Due to Unstable Slope, Rockfall Onto Roadway

News Release: The 17-mile Hurricane Ridge Road will remain closed through tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 18, due to a slow but continuous rockfall onto the road, announced Olympic National Park officials today. If necessary, the road may remain closed longer, but park staff are currently working to fully assess the situation and examine alternatives for reopening the road as soon as it is safe to do so.
