News Release: Jeff Maurer, a Wildlife Biologist at Yosemite National Park, died Sunday, Aug. 30, after falling from the Third Pillar, a technical rock climbing route on Mount Dana. Maurer, 47, has worked in the park for the past 3 years. Prior to that, he worked at the Yosemite Institute, taught at the University of California at Davis, and did research for many conservation organizations.
