News Release: DALLAS - The bank robber who was dubbed the “Checkbook Bandit" by the FBI, as he used a checkbook registry to display his demand notes in the robberies, Victor Lemond Williams, 43, of Dallas, was sentenced this morning by U.S. District Judge Ed Kinkeade to 90 months in federal prison. Williams has been in custody since his arrest in January 2012. U.S. Attorney Sarah R. Saldaña, of the Northern District of Texas, made the announcement today.


Southington Man Involved In Illegal Campaign Contribution Scheme Sentenced To 21 Months In Prison

News Release: Deirdre M. Daly, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that BENJAMIN HOGAN, 34, of Southington was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterton in New Haven to 21 months of imprisonment, followed by one year of supervised release, for participating in a scheme to direct illegal contributions into the campaign of a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. HOGAN also was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine.
