News Release: Park officials announced that Fortynine Palms Oasis Trail will be closed from sunset on Tuesday, September 25 until noon on Wednesday, September 26. Aerial search operations by helicopter will be active in the area as a continuation of the Miller search. The superintendent’s closure is authorized by Title 36 CFR, Section 1.5 (a) (1). Update: Due to the extensive area that needed to be searched, the closure is extended through noon, Thursday, September 27.
