Guatemalan Man Sentenced for Being in the United States Illegally

News Release: Bangor, Maine: United States Attorney Halsey B. Frank announced that Victor Yobany Archila-Rojas, 28, of Guatemala, was sentenced today in U.S. District Court to time served (53 days) for entering the United States after having been removed and deported. The defendant pleaded guilty on Aug. 14, 2018.


Connecticut Business Owner Sentenced for Export Violation

News Release: John H. Durham, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that IMRAN KHAN, 44, of North Haven, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport to three years of probation, the first six months of which KHAN must serve in home confinement, for violating U.S. export law. Judge Underhill also ordered KHAN to perform 100 hours of community service and pay a $3,000 fine.

Bluefield Man Sentenced on Gun Charge

News Release: BLUEFIELD, W.Va. - United States Attorney Mike Stuart announced that a Bluefield man was sentenced yesterday to federal prison on a gun charge. Laron Safford, 42, was sentenced to 24 months in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The case was investigated by the Southern Regional Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.

Jerseyville Man Sentenced to 6 Years in Prison for Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine

News Release: Christopher Scott Fry, 48, of Jerseyville, Illinois was sentenced today to serve six years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, Steven D. Weinhoeft, announced. Fry pled guilty to the charges in June and has been in federal custody since January 23.
