Steele sentenced two drug smugglers, Jeison Cambindo-Barahona and Marino Caido-Cardenas, both Columbian nationals, to one hundred and thirty five months confinement for being caught smuggling 800 kilograms of cocaine in international waters off the coast of Panama. The two men previously plead guilty to the charge in November 2019.

News Release: ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - A former Manito, Ill., man, Jonathan Edward Rakestraw, 36, has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison. On Feb. 28, 2020, Chief U.S. District Judge Sara Darrow sentenced Rakestraw to 15 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine in Schuyler County, Ill., in September 2018. Rakestraw was found to have approximately 118 grams of ice methamphetamine in his possession. On Oct. 2, 2019, Rakestraw pleaded guilty.


Cochise County man pleads guilty to transport of a narcotic drug for sale and misconduct involving weapons

News Release: SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a Cochise County superior court judge sentenced Timothy Henry, a Sierra Vista drug distributor, to 14 years in prison. Henry’s co-defendants, Jaime Rene Leza, Jennifer Sue Phillips, and Shalmarie Tulk, were all previously convicted and sentenced for their role assisting Henry traffic drugs.
