Gang Member Sentenced to More Than 8 Years for Drug Trafficking, Role in Bridgeport Courthouse Shooting

News Release: BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Destine Calderon, 27, of Bridgeport, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterton in New Haven to 97 months of imprisonment, followed by three years of supervised release, for his participation in a Bridgeport gang, and his role in a gang-related shooting that occurred in front of a state courthouse in Bridgeport in January 2020.

New York man arraigned on bank robbery charge

News Release: ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Marc Candelaria, 34, of Wantagh, New York, appeared in federal court on May 19 for an arraignment and detention hearing where he was charged with bank robbery. Candelaria will remain detained until space is available at La Pasada Halfway House, where he will be on conditions of release pending trial.

News Release: Tampa, Florida - U.S. District Judge William Jung has sentenced Andres Ivan Leyva Sabina (51, Tampa) to 17 years in federal prison for distributing and possessing images and videos depicting children being sexually abused. The court also ordered Sabina to pay more than $100,000 in restitution to child victims, serve a 10-year term of supervised release, and register as a sex offender. Sabina had pleaded guilty on Jan. 12, 2022.
