O’Shea, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Mario Amezcua Cardenas, 28, Wausau, Wisconsin, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge William M. Conley to 2 ½ years in federal prison for his role in laundering the proceeds of an international wire-fraud scheme. Amezcua Cardenas pled guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering on Feb. 17, 2022.
