Week ending August 15: 4 notices published by Transportation Department

There were four notices published by the Transportation Department in week ending August 15, according to the Federal Register.

The most recent notice, Denial of Motor Vehicle Defect Petition, DP19-004, was submitted on August 9, 2021.

The Transportation Department published 17 the week before, marking a 76.5 percent decrease.

The Department handles nearly all infrastructure crisscrossing the country. Downsizing the Federal Government, a project aimed at lowering taxes and boosting federal efficiency, said the Department should be privatized to save money, reduce congestion and spur innovation.

Notices are required documents detailing rules and regulations being proposed by each federal department. This allows the public to see what issues legislators and federal departments are focusing on.

Any person or organization can comment on the proposed rules. Departments and agencies must then address “significant issues raised in comments and discuss any changes made,” the Federal Register says.
