FMCSA to Hold Public Listening Sessions on Knowledge Testing Requirements for New Entrant Carriers, Freight Forwarders and Brokers

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) will hold a public listening session on Jan. 13, 2014, in Nashville, Tenn., to solicit ideas and information from interested parties on possible knowledge testing requirements for New Entrant passenger and property carriers, freight forwarders, and brokers. The interactive listening session will take place in conjunction with the American Bus Association’s Marketplace conference being held in the Music City Center, room 202C. No pre-registration is required. Attendance for the listening session is free. In addition, the entire listening session will be webcast live at www.fmcsa.dot.gov . FMCSA officials will take online comments and questions from the public during the session, which runs from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and 2:30-4:30 p.m., CST. Additional public listening sessions will be held March 28 at the Mid-America Trucking Show taking place at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Ky., and also April 7 at the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s spring conference taking place at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel & Suites in Los Angeles.
