Alaska Airlines 2nd Exemption
Grant Aviation Exemption
Today, the U.S. Department of Transportation is acting on two requests for exemption from the CARES Act airline service obligations announced in Order 2020-4-2. This is the first request of Grant Aviation and the second request of Alaska Airlines. The Department determined to act on the instant exemption requests since the relief requested is limited and consistent with earlier actions taken by the Department. In these actions, we approved Grant’s request to consolidate two Alaskan covered points and remove a covered point for which it had ceased service last year. The Department approved Alaska Airlines’ request to conduct its seasonal service during its regularly scheduled seasonal operational dates. The requests and the Notices of Action Taken can be found on www.regulations.gov by searching “Docket-DOT-OST-2020-0037.” The Department continues to review additional requests for exemption as well as the comments being submitted in the docket.
