CARES Act Air Service Exemption Hawaiian Airlines Renewal

Today, the U.S. Department of Transportation is acting on a request from Hawaiian Airlines for exemption from the CARES Act airline service obligations announced in Order 2020-4-2. This is the third request of Hawaiian Airlines to renew its exemption to suspend service temporarily to Pago Pago, American Samoa. Hawaiian Airlines’ renewal request is supported by the Governor of American Samoa. In this regard, the Department renews its grant of exemption to Hawaiian Airlines for its services to American Samoa through July 31, 2020. The request and the Notice of Action Taken can be found on www.regulations.gov by searching “Docket-DOT-OST-2020-0037.” The Department continues to review additional requests for exemption as well as the comments being submitted in the docket.
