Committee on Banking and Financial Services: On January 30, the Committee held a hearing on East Asia Economic Conditions. Testimony was heard from the following officials of the Department of the Treasury: Robert E. Rubin, Secretary; and Lawrence H. Summers, Deputy Secretary; William S. Cohen, Secretary of Defense; Alan Greenspan, Chairman, Board of Governors, Federal Reserve System; and public witnesses.

D.C. MANAGEMENT REFORM: COST, SAVINGS AND NET

Committee on Government Reform and Oversight: On January 30, the Subcommittee on the District of Columbia held a hearing on D.C. Management Reform: Cost, Savings and Net. Testimony was heard from Andrew Brimmer, Chairman, D.C. Financial and Responsibility and Management Assistance Authority; the following officials of the District of Columbia: Camille Barnett, Chief Management Officer; Anthony Williams, Chief Financial Officer; Marion Barry, Mayor, and Linda Cropp, Council Chair; and public witnesses.
